The fight continued with Cole telling Hill he should have inquired about why Haley was left out instead of assuming.

So to all those wondering why Haley made the final 10 but was cut before the final five inductees were announced, Cole gave some reasons.
“Every player has pluses and minuses. Awards are just part of picture … Haley’s low sack total, injury history hurt him. It’s not because of his personality. That’s the point it’s hard, period. It should be. This is a special honor. That’s why we spend so much time on it. he might be the toughest of all. Has all the numbers, but was a team destroyer,” were among some of the reasons provided by Cole over Twitter.
That “team destroyer” part probably is a huge factor with Haley. Maybe he’ll get in eventually, but all these negatives are reasons why he’s had to wait. And if you’ve ever read Jeff Pearlman’s “Boys Will Be Boys: The Glory Days and Party Nights of the Dallas Cowboys Dynasty,” you’ll understand why some people have a hard time putting Haley in the Hall.
Bias or not, at least Cole gave some reasons why Haley was cut.
