Many expected Bill Belichick to have his pick of multiple jobs after he parted ways with the New England Patriots, but the opportunities are drying up quickly for the 71-year-old coach. Oddsmakers clearly believe there is only one reasonable outcome for Belichick now.

As of Friday afternoon, DraftKings Sportsbook had the odds of Belichick not coaching in the NFL next season at -2000. That means you would have to risk $20 to win just $1 if you wanted to bet on Belichick not landing a head coach job in 2024.

Belichick initially looked like he had a decent chance to land the Atlanta Falcons job, but Raheem Morris was hired as their head coach on Thursday. That leaves only the Washington Commanders and Seattle Seahawks with vacancies, and Belichick is not believed to be a candidate for either job.

DraftKings lists the Commanders at +800 and “any other team” at +1200.

Belichick is 15 wins shy of breaking Don Shula’s record of 347 combined regular-season and playoff victories for an NFL coach. He almost certainly wants to pursue that mark, but he needs a job offer first.

A report on Thursday listed some of the reasons why the Falcons passed on Belichick. Other teams will likely view the coach the same way, so he may have to alter his expectations if he wants to take a year off and coach in 2025.
