The New England Patriots have lost one of their running backs for the season.
Antonio Gibson suffered a torn ACL during the Patriots’ 23-20 win over the Buffalo Bills on the road on Sunday night in Week 5. Gibson seemed to hurt his leg either just before he was hit, or when he was hit in his leg by the Bills. He ended up fumbling on the play, though the Patriots recovered the ball.

I believe the injury occurs before contact, his foot plants way ahead of his body and appears to have a brief valgus moment. Hard to tell how significant but wondering about integrity of ligaments (ACL mostly) and meniscus there pic.twitter.com/lQVSeN1sWe
Gibson was seen crying afterwards, likely because he knew the injury was serious. He was also on crutches after the game.
Gibson is in his second season with the Patriots after playing four years with the Washington Commanders. He had 106 yards and a touchdown on 25 carries. He was also a major factor as a kick returner for New England and had 342 yards on 12 attempts, including a 90-yard touchdown.
New England gave carries to both Rhamondre Stevenson and TreVeyon Henderson on Sunday night after Gibson got hurt. Stevenson has a fumbling problem, while Henderson is a rookie the fans want to see receive more opportunities.
