President Donald Trump has put down his foot and closed the door on a Philadelphia Eagles visit to the White House.
The Eagles were set to visit the White House on Tuesday to be celebrated for winning the Super Bowl. However, the team was reportedly planning to send a smaller contingent for the visit because several players disagreed with the president’s policies and the team’s owner did not want to force them to go.
The Eagles held meetings with their players in recent weeks and, according to sources, Jeff Lurie didn't want to put the players in a tough spot so he decided to send a smaller contingent. Other players were going to have an optional day at the facility. Now, no trip to D.C.

Here’s the statement from the White House in which President Trump says fans “deserve better” than having a small group attend.

This has been pretty typical behavior from President Trump. He also rescinded the Golden State Warriors’ invitation after several of their players had said they weren’t going to visit.
