The Washington Redskins franchise is essentially in shambles, and there are few better illustrations of that than the way ticket prices for games at FedEx Field have plummeted this season. If you’re going to be in the area and want to watch the Redskins play this weekend, admission is basically free.
As of Thursday, tickets to Sunday’s game between Washington and the Detroit Lions were selling for as little as $4 each on the secondary market. FOX 5 in Washington notes that those prices could be found on GameTime Tickets, while Ticketmaster was just barely higher at around $6 each.
The Redskins are 1-9 on the year, with their lone win coming against the Miami Dolphins. They have seemingly gotten worse by the week, and the future of the franchise looks grim. Players have reportedly been grumbling about the way interim head coach Bill Callahan is running the team, and the Washington coaching job is expected to draw very little interest after the season.
Washington was blown out by the New York Jets last weekend, and fans could be heard chanting for owner Daniel Snyder to sell the team. It would not be a surprise if some people shell out $4 per ticket just to express their displeasure with the state of the franchise.
