Titans expected to have interest in hot head coach candidate
The Tennessee Titans on Tuesday made a huge decision to fire Mike Vrabel. They will be looking for a new head coach, and they are expected to have interest in one of the hot candidates, according to one reporter.
Buck Reising, who covers the Titans for A to Z Sports, said on X that he expects the Titans to have “significant interest” in hiring Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson.
I expect the Titans to have significant interest in Lions OC Ben Johnson to fill their head coaching vacancy

The Titans wouldn’t be alone if they were to pursue Johnson. Carolina is rumored to have heavy interest in the Lions OC.
Johnson was a target for some teams last year, but he decided to remain with Detroit to serve as their offensive coordinator for a second season. The 37-year-old felt he needed more experience. This season, he coordinated an offense that ranked No. 5 in the league in points and No. 3 in yards. The team ranked No. 5 and No. 4 in the same categories in 2022.
Johnson is expected to be in high demand as teams look for new head coaches. That’s why there was talk that he would have some major salary desires.
The Titans are coming off a 6-11 season, which is their worst record since 2015. They have made the playoffs four times since 2017 but are facing major change with a new GM, new head coach, and most likely no Derrick Henry.
