Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tyler Boyd didn’t think much of the turf that the team practiced on Saturday.
Issues with the turf in Dayton came to light after star receiver A.J. Green went down with an ankle injury that could cause him to miss the start of the season. Boyd was quite clear in stating his dislike for the turf, which he felt the team had no business practicing on.
Tyler Boyd on the field in Dayton yesterday. Not holding back: "Turf was terrible. I couldn't run any routes. I was falling all over. It was bad. There was rock, pebbles out there. It was somewhere we shouldn't have been." #bengals

It may well be that the state of the field had nothing to do with Green’s unfortunate injury, but at this point, it will be hard to dispel the narrative. Team officials were not happy with it, and it’s a bad look for the organization and the league that it happened, especially if other Bengals players feel the same way.
