Warren Moon: RG3 needs to start taking the blame

One of the big criticisms of Robert Griffin III is that he doesn’t take responsibility enough and blames others too frequently. Hall of Fame quarterback Warren Moon specifically points that out as a problem with the Redskins quarterback.

“He needs to take more blame and stop passing the buck … even if it is someone else’s fault,” Moon told TMZ about Griffin. “He’s not popular with his teammates because of the way he handles things.”

Moon is surely talking about a comment from Santana Moss a few years ago, who said Griffin needed to take responsibility. He’s also probably talking about the recent report saying many of Washington’s OL didn’t like Griffin because he doesn’t accept blame.

“He’s the quarterback. And part of that is accepting blame when it’s not your fault because you also get all the credit when sometimes you shouldn’t,” says Moon.

Moon is exactly right. You put it on you if you’re the quarterback and cover for your teammates. That’s how it goes: You get all the glory and take all the blame as part of the tradeoff. Griffin wants the glory without the blame. Like Jay Gruden said, RG3 has been coddled for a long time.

Oh, and next time, don’t have interns run your social media account, Griffin, and then blame them when something goes wrong.
