Warren Sapp left zero tip on $69 bill at sports bar
Warren Sapp appears to have stiffed a server at a sports bar on a $69 bill by leaving zero tip and writing a snide remark on the check.
Sports business reporter Darren Rovell tweeted this photo of a receipt from Upper Deck Ale and Sports Grille in Hallandale, Fla., on Tuesday afternoon.
That’s a $69.39 bill with a big fat ZERO on the tip line, along with a message that appears to say, “Boys Don’t Tip!”
Words to live by, courtesy of Warren Sapp. I must have missed that lesson at etiquette school.
Unless … did the server call Sapp boy or refer to them as boys? Maybe that’s what caused the reaction. Either that, or she made a bankruptcy joke at his expense.
Normally I’d express some skepticism over the authenticity of something like this, but the receipt has Sapp’s signature, which seems to match other autographed memorabilia on the web; the name on the credit card used to pay said Warren Sapp; and the bill shows a bucket of Heineken was ordered.
Sapp tweeted this photo of an ice-cold Heineken around the same time as the receipt would show:

My only surprise is that Sapp’s credit card wasn’t turned down.
