Zach Ertz ruled out for Sunday’s potential division decider
Just as they have done all season, the Philadelphia Eagles will have to win shorthanded if they’re going to get into the playoffs.
The Eagles officially ruled tight end Zach Ertz out for Sunday’s game against the New York Giants, meaning they’ll be without one of their biggest offensive weapons in a potential NFC East clincher.

Ertz broke ribs in last week’s game and actually managed to play in the second half despite it. He also has back issues, so it’s fair to say he’s incredibly banged up right now. It’s not a huge shock that he’s not playing, even taking into account how massive the game is.
The star tight end will fall just short of a second consecutive 1,000-yard receiving season. He’ll settle for 916 yards and six touchdowns while hoping he can get healthy enough to play in a playoff game.
