Aaron Rodgers Remembers the Shot Roddy White Took at the Packers

Roddy White is a player who has not garnered a reputation as a trash talker, but he tends to talk a lot of trash.  You might say White is an under-the-radar smack talker.  We know he loves tweeting, as evidenced by the time he ripped on Alex Smith and the other time he called out the Saints for thinking they’re good.  Roddy also gave an interview over the offseason to brag about how great the Falcons offense would be this season, which hasn’t exactly panned out through four games.

One person who apparently takes note of the garbage White talks is the reining Super Bowl MVP.  You may recall the way the underrated Packers began their Super Bowl run last postseason: By stomping the No. 1-seeded Falcons on their own turf.  After that game, White talked about how the Falcons were a “better team” and basically insisted Green Bay only won because Atlanta was not prepared.

When asked about the upcoming rematch between the Packers and Falcons, Rodgers spoke like a man who hasn’t forgotten what Matt Ryan’s favorite target said last season.

“I’m expecting a crowd that’s into the game, Rodgers said. “A defense that’s excited. It’s going to be a loud atmosphere, like it always is down there. We got after them pretty good last year in the playoffs. I know some of the comments that have been made this offseason have been borderline disrespectful about what happened in the game, but basically we went down there and beat them, and they were the No. 1 seed. I’m sure they’re upset about that.”

Green Bay was clearly the better team last season and has been superior again this year.  The Falcons squeaked out a win over Seattle on Sunday, but they need a win over a quality opponent to get their season on track.  Hopefully for the folks in Atlanta, Roddy didn’t piss the mustache man off too badly with his comments last year.
