Michigan’s Jabrill Peppers says he can’t eat right on NCAA food stipend

Jabrill-Peppers

After former UConn guard Shabazz Napier complained about going to bed “starving” at night while college athletics bring in millions of dollars, the NCAA approved a proposal that expanded the meal allowance for all athletes who live on campus and gave them unlimited access to meals and snacks through their schools.

For Michigan defensive back Jabrill Peppers, it still isn’t enough.

Earlier this week, the sophomore took to Twitter to complain about not being able to “eat right” while at school.

Since Peppers chose to live in off-campus housing, he does not have unlimited access to campus food.

The Power 5 leagues are still working to approve a cost-of-attendance scholarship for athletes, which would give people like Peppers additional money for transportation and other costs — like food — in addition to tuition and fees.

If access to food was such a huge problem for Peppers, he could have chosen to remain on campus. Our favorite 320-pound quarterback would tell someone like Peppers that he has no idea how good he has it.
