Dolphins reportedly may make serious run at Greg Jennings

Greg-Jennings-PackersGreg Jennings will be a free agent after the season and has stated that he doesn’t expect to be back with the Green Bay Packers. The team has the option to franchise tag him, but they have plenty of depth at wide receiver and might not be inclined to do so. One team reportedly likely to pursue him is the Miami Dolphins.

According to Barry Jackson of The Miami Herald, the Dolphins “will consider making a serious run at Jennings in March.”

Jennings would be a natural fit with the Dolphins. Miami head coach Joe Philbin was the offensive coordinator in Green Bay when Jennings developed into a top receiver for the team. Jennings has recorded two 1,200+ receiving yards seasons and has caught at least nine touchdowns in a season four times.

Jennings missed half the season with a groin injury, and a knee injury kept him from playing in three games last season. But he has been productive in the games he’s played. He’s only 29 and he remains a good playmaker when healthy. Jennings would be a good free agent signing, especially for a team like Miami that has $47 million in cap space and few playmakers.
