Women’s tennis star Caroline Wozniacki and Washington Redskins linebacker Ryan Kerrigan attended a charity event together on Monday, leading to speculation that the two could be dating. For now, Kerrigan is insisting they are just friends.
During an appearance on ESPN 980’s “Inside the Locker Room” on Tuesday, Kerrigan was asked about his date with Wozniacki.
“I mean, I don’t really want to get into it,” he said, via Scott Allen of DC Sports Bog. “We’re friends, and she was in town, and she wanted to come to the event. We had a nice time at the event.”
For what it’s worth, that sounds like the cliche answer all athletes and celebrities give when they first start dating someone and don’t want to make a big deal out of it.
As LB mentioned, Wozniacki posted a photo on Instagram last week that showed she was watching a Redskins game. Coincidence? I suppose it could be…
Wozniacki was dumped by Rory McIlroy (over the phone) earlier this year. The two were engaged and had sent out wedding invitations. That’s pretty rough. We’re rooting for her to move on.
