How the fock are they supposed to do something with him when he's still RETIRED and has not even applied for reinstatement? He's demanding
something they can't do. I hope they make him the 3rd string practice
squad qb.

Well on the second point Montana did do quite well in KC. As a matter of fact he led the Chiefs to the AFC title game and to the playoffs in 1994. So Montana still was good.
On the Favre thing, in April before the draft the Pack went to him and asked him to stay one more year and he eventually turned them down. So all this crying directly falls on Favre. He is a selfish little girl who cant get his way or make up his mind. I hope that GB doesnt trade him or release him. Screw Favre

While the Packers may not have been entirely noble and altruistic in this matter, Favre has jerked them around for several seasons. This time, he didn't hem and haw, but actually retired. The Packers went on with their football lives and drafted accordingly. Regardless of how he felt physically, Favre should have made a final decision before the NFL draft. To not do so was incredibly selfish on his part. I guess Favre acted like he doesn't care about his former teammates. He certainly compromised their chance for success this season.

Many all time great NFL quarterbacks couldn't stand to be out of the limelight and didn't realize that they didn't have it all anymore. Several, such as Joe Montana, Joe Namath and John Unitas, wound up playing for a different team and none of them distinguished himself. Favre may have more football in him and maybe he can play some more, but he went about it in the wrong fashion, and that's the bottom line.
