Daniel Alfredsson picks his teeth up off ice (Video)
Detroit Red Wings forward Daniel Alfredsson became the latest victim of tooth loss in the NHL on Tuesday night. Late in the second period, Alfredsson and New Jersey Devils center Andrei Loktionov were fighting for position behind the net when Loktionov caught him in the face with an inadvertent high stick. It did some damage.
Alfredsson had to skate around to find his teeth — of which there appeared to be two missing — after being hit in the mouth. He returned to the bench with his Chiclets in hand and did not miss a single shift. He was scheduled to have a dentist appointment on Wednesday morning.
We have already seen not one but two NHL players pull out their own teeth after being hit in the mouth this season. At age 41, you would think Alfredsson is getting too old for this s—. His 14 goals and 23 assists would seem to disagree.
