Watch: Blue Jays manager Charlie Montoyo gets first career ejection
Toronto Blue Jays manager Charlie Montoyo celebrated a milestone of sorts on Monday night.
Montoyo was ejected for the first time in his MLB managerial career. He was tossed in the bottom of the fifth inning of Toronto’s game against the Minnesota Twins for arguing a strike three call on Brandon Drury.
At about 17 seconds you’ll see the weirdest umpire reaction I’ve ever seen…. (@keithlaw) pic.twitter.com/ZAVvlkMkOA

The ejection had an odd component. It looked as if homeplate umpire Adam Hamari asked whether Montoyo wanted to be ejected.
Based on the evidence, Montoyo and Drury had good reasons to be upset. Two of the strike calls in the at-bat were bad ones.

When your team is losing badly and you’re getting bad calls like that, you have every reason to be upset.
