Braves get last laugh in Twitter battle with Nationals
The Atlanta Braves beat the Washington Nationals in walk-off fashion on Sunday 4-2 to ensure that, thanks to winning three of four, they’d end the series alone in first place.
That meant the Braves got the last laugh — at least for now — in a Twitter war that spanned virtually the entire month of May as the Braves and Nationals jostled for first place in the NL East.
The Braves started it on May 2.

It would have been roundly ignored, but the Nationals filed things away and were ready to pounce on May 30, when Washington jumped ahead of Atlanta in the standings.

The Nationals spoke too soon, and after Sunday’s walkoff, the Braves had a very simple response.

The Braves have been one of baseball’s biggest surprises so far. Maybe now rivals will stop challenging them on Twitter.
