William Contreras is apparently a lot cooler in person than on social media.

The Milwaukee Brewers catcher Contreras went viral over the weekend for the priceless item that he autographed for a Brewers fan at a recent signing event. The fan showed up with a print-out of a screenshot … the screenshot showing that Contreras had blocked them on X. Contreras gave a smile and signed the print-out for the fan, saying, “That’s a good one.”

Here is the amusing video (which was posted by @YelichFans on X).

That had to be a first for Contreras and for any professional athlete, really. That gives a whole new meaning to the phrase “keeping the receipts.”

Contreras, an All-Star and World Series champion with the Atlanta Braves, has found a home in Milwaukee ever since being traded there after the 2022 campign. He won the Silver Slugger Award as a Brewer last season and now leads the team this season with a stellar .340 batting average and .960 OPS. Contreras has also forged a bond with the Milwaukee fans, who can be pretty tough on both opposing players and on their own players alike.
