Washington Nationals pitcher Max Scherzer has confirmed that his hamstring injury isn’t serious, but it may be just enough to push back his playoff start.
Scherzer said Sunday that an MRI on his hamstring showed only a “minor tweak,” but it was still no guarantee that he would be ready to pitch the NLDS opener for Washington this week.
Scherzer said MRI showed "minor tweak," what he expected. "Nothing major" but he said it's too soon to say if he'll start Game 1.

The Nationals have not been particularly worried about Scherzer’s status, and it sounds like he’ll pitch in the NLDS at some point. Luckily, the Nationals have a deep rotation, and they’d probably be able to get by if they have to start Stephen Strasburg in Game 1.
