Noah Syndergaard pitch was so hard, it left imprint on catcher
Mets pitcher Noah Syndergaard throws extremely hard. His fastball is averaging 98.3 MPH, and on Monday night against the Phillies, PITCHf/x clocked his fastball at an average of 99.9 MPH, while his sinker averaged a baffling 100.3, with both pitches maxing out at 102.
Not surprisingly, when you bounce 100 MPH in the dirt, it can jump back up and bite you. Mets catcher Kevin Plawecki found that out the hard way when the pitch came in so hard that it left an imprint of his necklace where it hit him.
How hard does Syndergaard throw? Plawecki blocked a pitch w/ his chest. Theres now an imprint where his necklace was pic.twitter.com/Sd52ije5PZ

Basically, catching Thor must hurt sometimes.
The man has displayed his nastiness repeatedly this season. He’s not really that sorry about how unfair it all is, though.
