Shohei Ohtani shares why he flexed after home run
Shohei Ohtani teamed up with Mike Trout and Tommy La Stella to belt back-to-back-to-back home runs in Saturday night’s win over the Seattle Mariners, and Ohtani gave little flex after hitting his solo shot. That type of celebration seemed a bit uncharacteristic for the 24-year-old, but he had a good explanation.
After the game, Ohtani told reporters he wanted to show Kole Calhoun that he has “some pop too” after Calhoun flexed following one of his homers recently.
Shohei Ohtani said he noticed Kole Calhoun flexing his muscles the other day after he hit a home run, so he did the same thing when he hit his homer tonight.
“I wanted to show I had some pop too,” Ohtani said. ????????

Ohtani’s home run certainly was a showcase of power, as it was a towering fly ball to the opposite field.

Ohtani did not play at the start of the season as he recovered from Tommy John surgery, but he now has six homers and 22 RBI in just 27 games. He’s clearly making his presence felt in the Angels’ lineup.
