The Boston Red Sox received their World Series rings during a pregame ceremony at Fenway Park on Friday afternoon, and one of their opponents may have been just as excited for the big day as they were. When an announcement was made that the Milwaukee Brewers were about to be introduced, starting pitcher Wily Peralta came sprinting out of the dugout and took a digger.
It looked like Peralta tripped over someone’s foot and tried to catch his balance, but he had no luck. Instead, he went into a head first dive and ended up sliding across the freshly groomed infield dirt.
Props to Peralta for finding a way to grab the spotlight on a day that the Red Sox were supposed to be the stars of the show.
