Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green had his name trending on social media following Sunday’s Caitlin Clark-Chennedy Carter incident.
Carter delivered what many considered to be a cheap shot on Clark late in the third quarter of the Indiana Fever’s 71-70 win over the Chicago Sky at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Ind.
Several fans compared Carter to Green after the dirty play on Clark. The Warriors star got suspended earlier this season for committing a handful of reckless and borderline dangerous plays throughout the campaign.

I’m very confused why the other players in the WNBA transform into Draymond Green when they guard Caitlin Clark? Do they know she’s the bag?

On the other hand, some also called Green the exact type of player that the Fever must pursue in order to protect Clark. The 4-time All-Star has served as Steph Curry’s unofficial protector throughout their time in Golden State.

Green himself thinks that the Fever should pursue a veteran willing to lay the smackdown on opposing players who come at Clark. In a comment on Instagram, the Warriors star called for the Fever to “invest in an enforcer” to protect Clark.

While fans on X had mixed opinions on Green, most of them slammed Carter for the incident. The Sky veteran was unwilling to talk about the altercation during her postgame press conference.
