DeMar DeRozan takes issue with Sports Illustrated player ranking once again
There’s no offseason tradition quite like DeMar DeRozan feeling disrespected by his annual Sports Illustrated player ranking.
The Toronto Raptors shooting guard was revealed on Tuesday to be ranked No. 36 in SI’s yearly list of the top 100 players in the NBA. Shortly thereafter, DeRozan sent this tweet, indicating the ranking didn’t quite sit well with him:
F SI…#ProveEm

At least it’s an improvement over DeRozan’s ranking in last year’s edition, something he also tweeted his displeasure about at the time. The USC product responded to that slight with career-highs in points (27.3) and rebounds per game (5.2) last season en route to his third All-Star appearance and his first All-NBA team. Time will tell if his fury takes him to another level in 2017-18.
