There has been a lot of talk about Joel Embiid potentially wanting out of Philadelphia in the near future, and at least one team has already prepared an offer for the reigning NBA MVP.

The New York Knicks have had internal discussions about what they would offer the 76ers in exchange for Embiid, according to Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer. New York would be willing to give up two or three first-round draft picks in addition to three of the four following players: Julius Randle, R.J. Barrett, Evan Fournier and Mitchell Robinson.

That would probably be enough to get the Knicks close to a deal with Philly, at the very least. The Knicks are notorious for missing out on star players in free agency and on the trade market, so it would not be a surprise if they were willing to let the 76ers name their price for Embiid.

Of course, the question is whether Embiid will ask for a trade. There have been multiple signs that he is growing tired of the drama in Philadelphia, the most recent of which involves James Harden not showing up to practice as Harden awaits a trade.

The Knicks are viewed by many as the favorite to land Embiid if the 6-time All-Star requests a trade. We were even reminded when Embiid got married over the summer that he has some strong connections to the Knicks.

For now, the 76ers will likely do everything they can to keep Embiid happy. If they have another disappointing season, things could get very interesting in Philly.
