LeBron James would ‘love’ to be in NBA long enough to play against eldest son

LeBron James

LeBron James is hoping to one day be the Ken Griffey Sr. of the NBA.

In an interview with GQ Magazine that was published on Tuesday, the 32-year-old James discussed the possibility of sticking around in the league long enough to play against his eldest son, LeBron Jr. a.k.a. Bronny.

“I know I won’t be able to play at this level forever, but to be washed and play … I don’t know if I can play washed,” said the four-time MVP. “But I damn sure would love to stick around if my oldest son can have an opportunity to play against me. That’d be, that’d be the icing on the cake right there.”

“I’ll foul the s— out of him!” James continued jokingly. “I’d give him all six fouls. I’d foul the s— out of Bronny, man.”

The NBA is very much in play for Bronny, who has been getting scholarship offers for years now. But he’s still just 13 years old, meaning that James, who is about to enter his 15th NBA season, would probably have to stick around for another six years or so. Still, the 13-time All-Star is a physical freak of nature who has yet to show any real signs of decline, so don’t bet against it.
