Manny Pacquiao plans to meet Jeremy Lin next week

When you graduate from Harvard, bounce around the NBA after being cut by multiple teams, get a chance to log some minutes, and then turn into one of the best players in the league, even the most famous people in the world want to shake your hand. With that in mind, it is easy to understand why Jeremy Lin is in such high demand. If Manny Pacquiao wanted to meet me, I’d probably feel pretty special.

According to the NY Daily News, Pacquaio is planning to meet Lin next Wednesday when he is in New York for a press conference announcing his fight against Timothy Bradley in June. Earlier in the week, Floyd Mayweather Jr. tweeted that Lin was only receiving all this attention because he’s Asian. Pacquiao then turned around and tweeted what seemed like a counter to Mayweather’s tweet when he wrote, “God bless Jeremy Lin.”

Pacquiao’s promoter Lee Samuels says he is an avid basketball fan.

“The only thing is when he is driving to the basket down the lane, the sea parts,” Samuels said.

Samuels also said Pacquiao stared at Michael Jordan’s statue outside the United Center “for the longest time” when he made his first trip to Chicago in 2008. The Pac Man and Lin should get along nicely.
