Key events leading up to the NBA Draft won’t be happening as scheduled.

As first reported by Shams Charania of The Athletic, the NBA Draft Lottery and Combine, both scheduled for May in Chicago, have been postponed.

The NBA has indefinitely postponed its NBA Draft Lottery and Draft Combine in May in Chicago due to coronavirus pandemic, sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium.

There was no way for these events to go ahead as scheduled. We don’t know if the season is over or not, so there was absolutely no way to do the draft lottery even if it was safe to.

The NBA Draft has not yet been postponed, but it’s hard to see it going ahead as scheduled in light of this. If NBA teams get their way, that event will be pushed back several months at minimum.
