The Philadelphia 76ers are feeling pretty confident about the way their team is looking heading towards the end of the season. Head coach Brett Brown says the team isn’t afraid of anyone. But one of their players knows whom he’d like to avoid.
After the Sixers beat the Knicks 118-101 on Wednesday, Dario Saric conducted a postgame interview with NBC Sports Philadelphia. He was asked whether the team is intimidated by anyone, and that’s when Saric mentioned LeBron.
“I don’t want to play against LeBron … he is obviously one of the top two, top three players in the world — in history maybe. I don’t want to face him. Everybody else is welcome to come here,” Saric said.
You have to appreciate his honesty. James had led his teams to seven straight Eastern Conference Finals, so it’s understandable why you’d want to avoid him in the playoffs. But Saric, who had 26 points and 14 rebounds in the win over the Knicks, probably shouldn’t admit to wanting to avoid someone. Then again, he’s shown us in the past that he isn’t the greatest on the mic.
