The Golden State Warriors have made some big additions already this summer, but an unlikely name will be trying to latch on with them come training camp.
ESPN’s Rachel Nichols tweeted Sunday that NBA veteran Stephen Jackson told her that he plans to try to return to the league at Warriors camp.
So happy for Stephen Jackson, who just told me he's going to camp w/the #Warriors this fall to give another shot at playing. @DaTrillStak5

Nichols would know, as Jackson has been a contributor to her ESPN show, “The Jump.”
Jackson spent parts of four seasons with Golden State, but he hasn’t played in the NBA since 2013-14, and that was a nine game stint with the Clippers. He turned 38 in April, so he’s still theoretically of playing age, but it’s hard to believe he’ll stick on such a talented roster unless Golden State decides they want a mentor figure on the team. The Warriors do see something in him — they had recently been eyeing him in a coaching role, not a playing one. It’ll also be interesting to see if his criticism of Kevin Durant will impact anything.
