Deion Sanders shares how long Travis Hunter will be out
Colorado star Travis Hunter was taken to the hospital after he was on the receiving end of a cheap shot in Saturday’s win, and the Buffaloes will be without him for a few games.
Deion Sanders told Carl Reed Jr. of 247 Sports on Monday that Hunter will be out three weeks. That means the two-way star will be sidelined for a crucial stretch of games against No. 10 Oregon, No. 5 USC and Arizona State.
Hunter was nailed on a dirty hit by Colorado State defensive back Henry Blackburn in the first quarter of Colorado’s thrilling double-overtime win. He was immediately ruled out for the remainder of the game and taken to a local hospital for further evaluation. While Sanders did not disclose details of the injury, Skip Bayless of FOX Sports 1 reported on Monday that Hunter suffered a lacerated liver.

Hunter had 2 catches for 21 yards prior to his exit. He also lost a fumble. He now has 16 catches for 213 yards on the season and 7 tackles and an interception defensively.
Tempers were running high entering Saturday’s game after Colorado State coach Jay Norvell took a shot Sanders earlier in the week. Hunter was part of some pre-game trash talk between teams, but unfortunately he did not have a chance to play a big role in the game.
