LSU relieved after targeting call on Grant Delpit overturned
Any anger LSU had over the team allowing a touchdown to Alabama in the first quarter of Saturday night’s game against the Crimson Tide was balanced by one positive break.
Not only did the Tide score on a touchdown pass from Tua Tagovailoa to Henry Ruggs III, but LSU Tigers safety Grant Delpit was called for targeting on the play.

Officials reviewed both the touchdown and the targeting penalty. While the touchdown stood for obvious reasons, the targeting call on Delpit was overturned.
LSU was already playing the first half of the game without Devin White due to a targeting penalty in a previous game. Who knows what kind of hatred would be spewed by James Carville if that targeting call stood.
