Chris Pratt serves in Adel Altamimi’s corner for Bellator debut
When Adel Altamimi made his Bellator debut on Saturday night, a familiar face joined him in his corner.
Actor Chris Pratt walked Altamimi to the cage, watched from the fighter’s corner, and celebrated in the cage with him after his win.
What was the famous actor doing at the Bellator 214 fight card at the Forum in Inglewood, Calif., hanging with Altamimi? The two are unlikely friends.
Altamimi, who came to Los Angeles a decade ago from Iraq, helped train Pratt in MMA after the two met at Jay Glazer’s Unbreakable gym in West Hollywood. They formed a friendship and bond, with Altamimi saying Pratt is more like family to him than a friend.
“This is my brother here,” Altamimi said after asking Pratt to stand beside him for his postfight interview.
Pratt has even posted about Adel on his Instagram page:

So excited to watch my brother from another mother, the fierce but humble warrior @adelkyokushin as he makes his @bellatormma debut this Saturday, Jan 26th. Check your local listings and make sure to tune in to watch him fight. I’ll be there walking him to the ring. I’ll wave to you. Go time baby!!!
Altamimi is now 8-5 after winning his fight over Brandon McMahan via first-round armbar submission.
