The Green Bay Packers got some tentatively good news on quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
Rodgers practiced with the Packers on Saturday, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, and he remains on schedule in his recovery from a broken collarbone — but there remain many steps before he can actually entertain the thought of a return in 2017.
#Packers QB Aaron Rodgers practiced today, source said, and he’s officially designed as a player to return off IR. This is the next step in the process. Rodgers still isn’t cleared and won’t even be scanned until after the #Browns game. Many hurdles to go.

For the #Packers and QB Aaron Rodgers, many factors will go into him actually playing — including the scan, the team’s standing. Today, he practiced a little and obviously not with the first-team. It merely means he hasn’t had any setbacks. He’s on schedule

Rodgers has made clear that he won’t rush his return, and with the Packers sitting at 5-6, there may not be any reason to. Still, it’s encouraging that there haven’t been any setbacks in his recovery.
