Bengals finally fire Marvin Lewis after 16 seasons, no playoff wins
The Marvin Lewis era in Cincinnati has finally come to an end.
The Bengals decided on Monday that they are parting ways with Lewis after he spent 16 seasons as the team’s head coach. While there had been rumblings that Lewis could step down or transition to a different role within the organization, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports that the decision was made by team owner Mike Brown.

Lewis never won a playoff game with the Bengals, and it was downright stunning that he was able to keep his job for so long. He finishes with an overall record of 131-122-3 and seven playoff appearances.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that Vance Joseph, who was fired by the Denver Broncos on Monday, will be a name to watch in Cincinnati. He served as a defensive backs coach for the Bengals in 2014 and 2015.
