Evan Engram to get second opinion on foot injury
Evan Engram is enjoying a very productive year with the New York Giants in his third NFL season, but a foot injury he suffered in Monday night’s loss to the Dallas Cowboys could slow him down a bit.
Engram has not practice this week with what Giants coach Pat Shurmur called “a little bit of a sore foot,” and it was bothering the tight end enough that he underwent an MRI. That MRI is now being sent out for a second opinion, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports.
An MRI of Giants’ TE Evan Engram’s foot injury is being sent to noted Dr. Robert Anderson for a second opinion, per source. Giants’ HC Pat Shurmur called it “little bit of a sore foot” yesterday, and for now, Engram’s status is uncertain.

While the Giants have not said they believe the injury is serious, their actions indicate there is at least some level of concern.
Engram missed a game earlier this year with a knee injury, but he still has 44 catches for 467 yards and three touchdowns. He’s on pace to set career highs across the board, which many predicted would happen now that Odell Beckham Jr. is no longer with the Giants.
Believe it or not, Sunday’s game against the New York Jets could be an important one in terms of coaches and players trying to save their jobs. Not having Engram would be bad news for Big Blue.
