It’s been a very eventful week for Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey.
Ramsey, whose status for Week 4 has been in growing doubt for various reasons, has been permitted to leave the team to be with his family for the impending birth of his daughter.

In other words, it sounds pretty unlikely that Ramsey will be taking the field on Sunday. The 24-year-old wants to be traded, and the week has seen him deal with the flu and a bad back. The latter issue was so confusing that everyone involved needed to clarify it.
Ramsey’s reason for departure here is legitimate, but one has to wonder if both sides are simply taking this opportunity to move apart from each other and take a break from the drama. It’s unclear what the next step is, but the open-ended return date signifies that everyone involved may be over the constant distraction.
