Jermaine Kearse’s first quarter in the preseason with his new team proved to be devastating.
Kearse was injured while blocking on a rushing play in the Detroit Lions’ preseason game Thursday against the New England Patriots. A Patriots defender who missed on the tackle rolled onto the back of Kearse’s left leg. Kearse went to the turf and had to be carted off the field.
NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reported that Kearse suffered a broken leg and other injuries to his ankle.
#Lions WR Jermaine Kearse, who was carted off earlier, suffered a broken leg and also associated injuries to his ankle, source said. In what was supposed to be a bounce-back year, it’s a brutal injury instead.
