Joseph Randle denies gambling on sports
Former Dallas Cowboys running back Joseph Randle says he never gambled on sports while playing in the NFL.
A report Brandon George of The Dallas Morning News this week cites several sources who claim the Cowboys learned last year that Randle had been betting on sports. The former Oklahoma State star denies the allegations.

According to George’s report, the Cowboys released Randle after they found out he was placing wagers on sporting events during the 2015 season in addition to all the off-field issues he was having. Jerry Jones alluded to Randle’s problems at the Senior Bowl last week, but he said there has been no indication that the 24-year-old bet on NFL games.
“All of that became apparent to us right during the season,” Jones said. “Not before the season. It became real acute, a combination of things. Some issues … became more apparent.”
NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said Monday that the league is not investigating the claims against Randle.
“We have never had any information relayed to us alleging that Joseph Randle bet on sports,” Aiello said.
The NFL prohibits players from placing illegal wagers and placing any type of wager on sporting events. It’s interesting to note that one of Randle’s several arrests over the past year happened at a casino.
Randle’s days of playing in the NFL could be over whether he bet on sports or not. He was arrested over the weekend following an incident at his ex-girlfriend’s house, and that was Randle’s third arrest in the past year.
