Marcus Mariota impressing at Titans camp
Marcus Mariota is off to a fast start with the Tennessee Titans and looks to be proving that the team made the right pick in choosing him No. 2 overall in the draft.
According to reports, Mariota has been impressive in training camp. Through Wednesday, the former Heisman Trophy winner had gone five straight practices without an interception. Titans Online reporter Jim Wyatt says Mariota went 8-for-12 passing Wednesday, and that included two drops.
Mariota’s strong play has impressed his new teammates:
Spoke to a Titan who was initially skeptical of Mariota: "He can really spin it. Been looking guys off since Day 1. We got the right one."

Mariota is set to begin the season as the team’s starter ahead of Zach Mettenberger, who started the final six games of the season for Tennessee last year. He seems to be in a class above his teammate:
It can't be overstated how sharp Mariota looks in practice, and that's before you get into a comparison with Mettenberger. Not even close.

Some teams apparently had some concerns about Mariota entering the draft because they could not find any red flags on him. Maybe the lack of interceptions to start camp would erase those concerns for misguided teams. It’s also looking like Jim Mora’s prediction about the quarterback is turning out to be accurate.
