Marshawn Lynch agrees to new contract with Seahawks
Marshawn Lynch will not be retiring just yet.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the veteran running back will re-sign with the Seahawks after the two sides agreed to a deal:
Spotted on plane on way to SEA, Marshawn Lynch has decided to return to NFL; he and Seattle have reached agreement on new deal, per source.

There was speculation that Lynch, who turns 29 next month, was considering retirement, even though he showed last season that he remains one of the best running backs in the game. Lynch scored a combined 17 all-purpose touchdowns last season, which was the best of his career. His 4.7 yards per carry last season was the second-highest average of his career, second to the five yards he averaged per carry in 2012 with Seattle.
Last month a report said the Seahawks had a new, big-money offer in place for Lynch should he choose to return to the team. It sounds like that was enough to sway him to return.
During a recent trip to Turkey, Lynch expressed some skepticism about not getting the ball at the end of the Super Bowl, but it appears he holds no hard feelings towards his team. Whatever amount the Seahawks will be paying him this season, he’ll be worth every penny.
