Marshawn Lynch has not given the Oakland Raiders the boost they have hoped for in their backfield this season, and the veteran running back is doing everything he can to change that going forward.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, Lynch has been “embarrassed” by his recent play and decided to call a meeting with Raiders offensive line coach Mike Tice in an attempt to sort some things out before Week 5.

“He’s been dealing with what was described to me as embarrassment regarding his performance,” Rapoport said. “He requested a private meeting with Mike Tice, the Raiders’ respected offensive line coach, and went over film and got some homework. … Lynch responded with the best week of practice he’s had in a Raiders uniform after doing homework that Tice assigned him.”
Lynch has rushed for just 151 yards on 45 carries, and 76 of those yards came in Week 1. He has a total of just 30 yards on his last 15 rushes. We can expect better games going forward, but overall he has looked exactly how you would expect a 31-year-old running back who sat out an entire season to look.
At this point, the biggest news Lynch has made with the Raiders was with the shirt he wore to the stadium last week. It’s good to hear that Beast Mode is doing everything he can to get back to living up to his nickname.
