Patrick Mahomes appears to suffer hand injury against Patriots
Patrick Mahomes took a few hits early in the Kansas City Chiefs’ game against the New England Patriots on Sunday, and one of them may have left him with an injured throwing hand.
Mahomes was seen holding his right hand and flexing his fingers after several throws in the first quarter. His passes didn’t appear to be all that impacted, but it looked like he may have suffered some sort of injury when he landed awkwardly. He was seen examining his hand several times before being checked out by the training staff on the sideline.

Mahomes stayed in the game, but he appeared to be in some pain. It’s possible the injury could impact some of his throws.
Between hurting his ankle a few times and the nasty dislocated knee he suffered earlier in the year, Mahomes has not been fully healthy for much of the season. That could be part of the reason he hasn’t played at quite as high of a level as he did during his MVP season last year.
