The timetable on Saquon Barkley’s ankle injury is in, and it’s not good news for the New York Giants.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Monday that the New York Giants running back is set to miss 4-8 weeks with a high ankle sprain, and it’s considered likely that he may be sidelined for the higher end of that estimate.
MRI revealed Giants’ RB Saquon Barkley suffered a high ankle sprain that could sideline him anywhere from 4-8 weeks, per source. Longer timeline is considered more likely; the Giants have a bye in week 11, which could give him eight weeks to recover and return for last six games.

An eight week injury would cause Barkley to miss a game against the New England Patriots, plus the team’s second matchup with the division rival Dallas Cowboys.
Barkley was off to a great start to 2019, having racked up 100 rushing yards in his first two games. Given how severe the injury looked live, this is, sadly, not a huge surprise.
