According to Stephen A. Smith, Kyrie Irving is not happy with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Smith dropped that information on Monday morning’s episode of First Take on ESPN, as collected by Josh Hill of Fansided.
“Dating back to last year, I’ve been told that Kyrie Irving ain’t too happy being in Cleveland,” Smith reported. “The situation is not ideal for him. I don’t know the particulars, I haven’t spoken to him personally. It’s something that I’ve been hearing for months; that under ideal circumstances he would prefer to be someplace other than Cleveland.”
Smith offers no real explanation as to why Irving would feel this way, or where Irving would prefer to be. He solely says that Irving isn’t happy in Cleveland and would prefer to be elsewhere.
This seems abrupt. Sure, he had some initial problems with LeBron James that got mildly heated at times, but it seems like things have been okay on that front lately. There was reportedly some tension with the organization earlier in the season, but that also appeared to be pretty minor and easily resolved. We’re only left to wonder if this is true, and even if it is, there’s not much Irving or the Cavs can do about it at this juncture.
