Thomas Rawls named Seahawks’ Week 2 starter
The Seattle Seahawks’ backfield once again belongs to Thomas Rawls.
Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll announced on Wednesday that Rawls will be the team’s starting running back against the LA Rams on Sunday after Christine Michael got the start in Week 1, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Michael rushed 15 times for 66 yards in Seattle’s 12-10 opening week victory over the Miami Dolphins, while Rawls got 12 carries for 32 yards.
The Seahawks were said to be treating that Week 1 matchup as a preseason game for Rawls, but now they appear to be comfortable letting the 23-year-old return to his customary role. Still, it’s uncertain how healthy Rawls actually is just nine months removed from a broken ankle and how effective he’ll be facing a stout Rams run defense that likely won’t be quite as awful as they were in Week 1 against the San Francisco 49ers.
