Professional wrestler Alberto Del Rio was arrested on Sunday following an incident in which he allegedly beat and sexually assaulted a woman in Texas.
NEWS4SA reports that Del Rio, whose real name is Jose A. Rodriguez Chucuan, was taken into custody after police became aware of an incident that took place on May 3. According to the affidavit, the woman told police that Chucuan assaulted her multiple times after becoming angry with her.
The report states that Chucuan “forced (the woman) to wear a dress and dance for him” and told her that if she began crying he “would take her son and drop him in the middle of the road somewhere.” The woman says Chucuan then sexually assaulted her, and she had her injuries photographed when she went to the police.
Chucuan is facing charges related to sexual assault, though the exact charges have not been released. The 42-year-old remained in custody at the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office as of Sunday evening.
Chucuan has wrestled in the United States and Mexico. His tenure with the WWE came to an end in 2014 after he reportedly assaulted a WWE employee over a racist joke.
