Something Hasn’t Clicked with LeBron

What is up with LeBron’s mentality? Why does it feel like something hasn’t clicked? Why did he ease up and make the pass instead of go for the dunk? Why does it come off as if he’s too afraid to make the big mistake? Why does it seem like he’s afraid to harm his ego by missing by missing a crucial shot?

If you take a look at the video, you’ll see that LeBron had a clear step on Tayshaun and an easy path to tie the game. So why didn’t he do it? Why did he go for the kick out? It’s simple; at this point in his career, LeBron James is much more willing to pass-the-buck (literally), than assume responsibility. LeBron says he would pass that ball every single time. But something tells me that after the media outrage, he might think twice next time.

LeBron aside, I’ll say this for Detroit — they were lucky to get the win. And thank goodness for Jason Maxiell. While his stat line may be less-than-impressive, his effort certainly was anything but.

Oh, and BTW, Donyell Marshall was a 35% 3pt shooter in the regular season. LeBron probably makes that dunk 100% of the time. You do the math.
