Allen Iverson’s ex-wife Tawanna says he abducted their five children

Allen-Iverson-Hated-Luggage-Bought-New-ClothesAllen Iverson and his ex wife Tawanna Iverson are still trying to sort through a messy divorce, with a lot of the back-and-forth having to do with the couple’s five children. Tawanna recently filed court documents claiming that Allen owes her $40,000 in unpaid child support and has not made a single payment since they divorced. Now, Tawanna is also claiming he has abducted the children.

According to TMZ, Tawanna filed legal documents over the weekend “begging” the court to force Allen to give her their five children back. Tawanna has sole custody of the children, whose ages range from 3 to 16, but she recently granted Allen permission to take them on a vacation to North Carolina from May 22 through May 26. She said he has still not returned them.

The court documents state that Tawanna tried to set up a meeting with Allen at a neutral Target store to get the children back but he never showed. She believes he never took them to Charlotte and is instead staying with them at a Sheraton hotel in Georgia. Tawanna is asking that the judge force Allen to return the children and sentence him to jail time, as she claims he is an alcoholic who drinks when he is with his kids.

Tawanna should have never agreed to allow the former Sixers star to take the children for the week if he is an alcoholic who drinks around them, but that is beside the point. The couple has constantly fought over their children and marital assets, so the filing of court documents is nothing new. It’s impossible to tell who is being truthful at this point. Fortunately, that is for the judge to decide.
